Whether buying or renting, getting a new property is an important step. It can be stressful looking around for the perfect property and if required a house removal company, but you need to remember to maintain a realistic and grounded head at all times.
- Be compromising. Sometimes, you can’t have it all. You may want a two bed roomed house with a garden, but if you can’t afford it, you may need to compromise for either a two bed house with no garden, or a one bed ground floor flat with a garden. Which would you prefer?
- See past the stuff. Sometimes it is hard to visualise yourself in a property because of the current occupant’s things like furniture or styling. It may not be you cup of tea, so make sure you see the rooms as blank canvases. What would you do with this space?
- Think about parking. Many people underestimate how important it is to be able to park on a drive or outside the property; in fact many new properties only have one parking space. If there is two of you, where will you both park? Don’t forget to consider parking even if you find something which resembles your dream house.
- Consider other costs. Home Removal can be more expensive if travelling a large distance. A domestic removal company may need to be hired to help you with the move – make sure you factor this into your costs. Also remember you may need to do work to the house when you get into it – draw up a spreadsheet so you can keep track of your finances.
